Our Story
Do you remember your first day at work? Were you excited, a little nervous? Were you dressed to impress? Ready to jump into your new career after years of study?
This was Annemarie, our co-founder, an emergency medicine doctor who was handed a set of threadbare, shapeless, faded, stained and smelly scrubs to wear on her first shift. Welcome to medicine! The drawstring pant indeed ensured a one-size-fits-all but left her feeling disappointed, unsophisticated and completely lacking in identity or individualism. This feeling continued for the next ten years until she found Cindy, a kindred spirit with an extensive background in finance, business and leadership to help her bring her dream of looking good and feeling good while doing good to life by reimagining scrubs.
Cindy and Annemarie joined forces to create Spiritum, a business founded by women for women. Our clothing is designed to be breathable, functional and let’s not forget fashionable. When you look good you feel good - Spiritum Scrubs will put a sparkle in your day - and your night!
OUR SPIRITUM STORY
On our journey to naming our business, we searched deeply for words that would describe how we wanted our customers to feel. This would come across in our brand, in our designs, in our product development and in our material selection. We landed on Spiritum – in Latin, Spiritum means breath and captures the essence of all our products. Breath is central to life and our health workers play an integral role in keeping us safe and well. At Spiritum Scrubs, we aspire to breathe life into the clothing that wraps around you and makes you feel fabulously confident while you work.
Our clothing is designed to be breathable, functional and let’s not forget fashionable. When you look good you feel good – Spiritum Scrubs will put a sparkle in your day (or night!).
